The Upsidedown Rabbit
As a ceramist, I build narratives by using clay. As a writer, I use words to build worlds and characters, who populate them. The two feed off each other’s energy, and together create storytelling that sparks conversation. My children's books are written in Romanian, translated into English and German. Some of them are self-published, some are traditionally published. If curious to discover them, check the gallery below.
Wednesday morning seems just an ordinary morning in the city of Antarcticus Oppopole. Not for snowman Cole Coldman, who trips over a mysterious carpet on his doorstep and meets an unexpected character named Twister. A story of unlikely friendship, written with humour and charmingly illustrated.
Also available in German as Grif und der fliegende Teppich.
Cole is a grumpy snowman with a weakness for chocolate candies and no fondness for surprises, not even pleasant ones. One day his life turns upside down: unexpected news from his boss, and a monster on a roof.
Also available in German as Grif geht auf Reisen.
On a gloomy Monday morning, Tommy honks impatiently at an elderly woman crossing at the traffic light. That single moment sets off strange and magical consequences, in a tale about accountability and making things right. Illustrated by Alexander Glonin.
Also available in German as Tommy und der seltsame Tag.
Meet Maurice, a 575 year-old dragon, who likes to drink blackcurrant juice and is best friends with a human. He is adventurous, brave, a bit naughty, and because he is magical, he can travel between the world of fantastical creatures and the world of humans.
The Adventures of Maurice, the Dragon, is a book, that I co-wrote with my friend, Adriana Stefan, and it was published in Romanian at Humanitas Junior. It is a book about unlikely friendships, forgiveness and last, but not least, about the beauty of stories and the magic they bring into our lives.
